Lithium Projects Review

In August 2023, RFC Ambrian released a comprehensive sector report on the Lithium Market – “Deficits Still on the Horizon But the Pace of New Supply is Picking Up”. That report took a deep dive into the global lithium commodity market and discussed the potential risks and opportunities associated with lithium supply chain developments.

Lithium is a young commodity and over the past few years the industry has been undergoing a process of initial rationalisation through a series of mergers and acquisitions. In recent months, the sector has been particularly hot with high-value Australian lithium company takeover battles hitting the headlines.

Today, we are pleased to release our follow-up report, “Lithium Projects Review”, which builds on the sectoral overview, reviews recent lithium M&A activity and takes a closer look at lithium development projects. The focus is on new projects which we believe have the potential to be targets for future industry consolidation, whether that is via outright takeover or a third-party taking a significant interest in the project.
